Like Mary Olsen’s I’m Made of Mama’s Milk, this lyrical photographic book is a love song to breastfeeding from
the perspective of a breastfeeding child. Unlike that book, this one shows pictures of many different nurslings and
their families. The diversity of its subjects is a real strength of this book. Vibrant, full-color images show infants
and toddlers of many ethnicities nursing in a wide variety of places and poses (from lying down to standing and
even upside-down). Images of breastfeeding during pregnancy and tandem breastfeeding are also included. A
natural book for mothers and children to read together—likely many times -- this would be well-suited for printing
as a more durable board book.
